| Ingredients: |
| 2 | cups | Flour |
| 1/2 | cups | Shortening |
| 1 1/2 | cups | Brown Sugar |
| 1 | | Egg |
| pinches | Salt |
| 1 | cup | Buttermilk OR Sour Milk* |
| 1 | tsp | Baking Soda |
| 1 | tsp | Cinnamon |
| | * Sour milk = Add 1 tsp of vinegar to 1 cup of milk. (Beware mixture fizzes when soda is added) |

| Instructions: |
| 1. | Mix together flour, shortening and brown sugar. |
| 2. | Add cinnamon to 3/4 cup of this mix and set aside. |
| 3. | Dissolve soda in milk. |
| 4. | Add milk/soda combination along with egg to remaining flour mixture. |
| 5. | Pour this into a greased 9x13 inch pan. |
| 6. | Sprinkle cinnamon topping on it. |
| 7. | Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min. |
| 8. | Serve warm. |
