Starlight Double-Delight Cake |

Ingredients: |
6 | oz | Cream Cheese (2 3 oz pkgs) |
3/4 | cups | Shortening, separated |
1/2 | tsp | Vanilla |
1/2 | tsp | Peppermint Extract |
6 | cups | Confectioner's Sugar, sifted and separated |
1/4 | cups | Hot Water |
4 | oz | Chocolate, melted (4 squares) |
2 1/4 | cups | Pillsbury's Flour, sifted |
1 1/2 | tsp | Baking Soda |
1 | tsp | Salt |
3 | | Eggs |
3/4 | cups | Milk |

Instructions: |
1. | Cream together cream cheese, 1/2 c. shortening, vanilla and peppermint extract until fluffy. |
2. | Blend half of the sugar into the creamed cheese mixture. |
3. | Add hot water alternately with balance of sugar. |
4. | Blend in melted chocolate squares. |
5. | Set aside 1/2 of this mixture as frosting. |
6. | Sift together flour, soda and salt. |
7. | Combine remaining shortening (1/4 c) and remaining choc-frosting mixture; mix thoroughly. |
8. | Blend in 3 eggs, one at a time. Beat 1 minute. |
9. | Add milk alternately with sifted dry ingredients to creamed mixture, beginning and ending with dry i |
10. | Pour into 2 - 9 inch layer pans. |
11. | Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. |
