Saucy Surprise Cake

Ingredients:
1 1/2cups Flour, sifted
1tsp Salt
2/3cups Sugar
1/2cups Seedless Raisins
1/2cups Light Molasses
2tsp Baking Powder
1/2cups Butter or Margarine, divided
1cup Milk
1 Lemon, grated peel and juice
1 1/4cups Water
 
Instructions:
1.  Mix and sift flour, powder and salt.
2.  Cream 4 tbsp butter, gradually adding sugar. Cream until light and fluffy.
3.  Add milk alternately with flour mix, beating until smooth after each addition.
4.  Stir in raisins and lemon peel.
5.  Spoon into well-greased 8x8x2 inch pan.
6.  Combine lemon juice, remaining butter, molasses and water in saucepan; bring to boil.
7.  Remove from heat.
8.  Pour gently and evenly over batter.
9.  Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
10.  Serve warm.
