Peanut Butter Pie
  (One of Grandma's Favorites!)

Ingredients:
3/4cups powdered sugar
1/2cups peanut butter
1/2cups Sugar
3tbsp corn starch
1/4tsp salt
2cups milk
2 egg yolks, slighty beaten
 
2  egg whites
1/4tsp cream of tartar
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/4 cups sugar
1 pie shell
 
 
 
 
 
Instructions:
1.  Mix together powdered sugar and peanut butter until it crumbles.
2.  Put all but approx 2 tablespoons of the mixture in bottom of baked pie shell
3.  Mix and cook sugar, cornstarch, salt, milk and egg yolks until thick, stirring constantly.
4.  Pour on top of crumbs.
5.  Meringue: beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy,
6.  Beat in sugar 1 tablespoon at a time, continue beating until stiff and glossy.
7.  Do not underbeat. Beat in vanilla.
8.  Put meringue on top of filling and then sprinkle with remaining peanut butter crumbs.
9.  Bake at 350 until meringue is golden brown.
