Peanut Brittle
  (One of Grandma's Favorites!) 
Category: Candies    Kitchen of: Dot Sharp
 
Ingredients:
2cups Granulated Sugar
1cup Karo
1/2cups Water
pinch Salt
2cups Raw Spanish Peanuts (12 oz.)
1/4cups Margarine (1/2 stick)
2tsp Baking Soda
 
Instructions:
1.  Cook first four ingredients on medium heat until they reach soft ball temperature (238 degrees).
2.  Add peanuts and margarine; cook to 300 degrees stirring continually.
3.  Set off heat and add baking soda.
4.  Stir soda in quickly just to mix in and pour mixture on a greased cookie sheet.
5.  Cool in a cool place.
6.  Break in pieces.
7.  (Makes 2 to 2.5 lbs.)
