| Ingredients: |
| 1 | cup | Shortening (margarine) (a) |
| 1 | cup | Granulated Sugar (a) |
| 1 | cup | Brown Sugar (a) |
| 2 | | Eggs |
| 2 | cups | Flour (b) |
| 1/4 | tsp | Salt (b) |
| 1 | tsp | Baking Soda (b) |
| 1/2 | tsp | Baking Powder (b) |
| 1 | tsp | Vanilla |
| 2 | cups | Rolled Oats |
| 1 | cup | Chocolate Bits |
| 1 | cup | Nuts, chopped |

| Instructions: |
| 1. | Cream (a) ingredients together; add eggs and beat well. |
| 2. | Sift together (b) ingredients in separate bowl and then add to creamed mixture. |
| 3. | Beat well. |
| 4. | Stir in remaining ingredients. |
| 5. | Drop by teaspoons in a greased baking sheet. |
| 6. | Bake for 8 minutes at 350 degrees. |
