Oatmeal Almond Bars |

Ingredients: |
2/3 | cups | butter or margarine, softened |
1/2 | cups | firmly packed brown sugar |
1/2 | cups | light corn syrup |
2 | tsp | vanilla |
4 | cups | quick-cooling rolled oats |
12 | oz | semi-sweet chocolate chips |
1 1/3 | cups | creamy almond butter (or peanut butter) |
1/3 | cups | chopped almonds (or peanuts -try to match your butter) |

Instructions: |
1. | beat butter and sugar in large bowl until creamy |
2. | stir in corn syrup, vanilla, and oats, blending thoroughly |
3. | pat dough evenly over bottom of greased 13 x 9 pan |
4. | bake at 350 deg for about 20 min or until golden around edges |
5. | let cool in pan on a rack, then cover and refrigerate until cold |
6. | place chocolate chips and almond butter in 1 1/2 to 2 quart pan |
7. | stir over very low heat until melted and smooth (microwave ok) |
8. | spread mixture evenly over baked crust then sprinkle with nuts |
9. | refrigerate until topping firms slightly (about 15 mins) |
10. | cut into bars |
11. | store covered in refrigerator |
