2 | cups | Brown Sugar | 1 | tsp | Baking Soda | 2 | | Eggs | 1 | tsp | Cream of Tartar | 1 | tsp | Vanilla | 1/2 | tsp | Salt | 4 | cups | Flour | 1 scant | cups | Butter or Lard |

Instructions: |
1. | Mix dry ingredients | 2. | Add vanilla, eggs and butter | 3. | Mix well | 4. | Form into 2 rolls | 5. | Slice and bake in 400 degree oven |
