| Ingredients: |
| 1 | pkg | German Chocolate Cake Mix (a) |
| 3/4 | cups | Butter or Margarine, melted (a) |
| 1/3 | cups | Evaporated Milk (a) |
| 1 | pkg | Caramels |
| 1/3 | cups | Evaporated Milk |
| 1 | pkg | Chocolate Chips (12 oz) |

| Instructions: |
| 1. | Mix together (a) ingredients. |
| 2. | Spread 1/2 of mixture in 9 x 13 inch pan |
| 3. | Bake for 6 minutes at 350 degrees |
| 4. | Melt caramels in 1/3 c evap. milk in double boiler |
| 5. | Remove pan from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top |
| 6. | Pour caramel over choc chips |
| 7. | Drop remaining batter by teaspoonful and spread with tines of fork |
| 8. | Return to oven and bake 18 to 20 minutes longer |
| 9. | Cool 1 1/2 hours before cutting |
