| 4 | cups | brown sugar | | 4 | | eggs | | 1 | cup | lard | | 1/2 | tsp | salt | | 1 | tsp | vanilla | | 5 | cups | flour | | 1 | cup | nuts | | 1 | tsp | cream of tartar | | 1 | tsp | baking soda |

| Instructions: |
| 1. | Mix ingredients in order listed | | 2. | Roll in 1 1/2 inch roll. | | 3. | Leave til morning. | | 4. | Cut in slices and bake at 375 degrees about 10 minutes. |
