Angel Food Cake
  (One of Grandma's Favorites!)

Ingredients:
1 1/2cups egg whites [room temperature]
1 1/2tsp cream of tartar
1 1/3cups granulated sugar
1/2cups granulated sugar
1/4tsp salt
1 1/2tsp vanilla
1 1/4cups cake flour (sift before measure)
 
Instructions:
1.  Sift cake flour and 1/2 cup sugar three times [set aside]
2.  beat egg whites until feathery
3.  add cream of tartar and beat untill stiff but not dry
4.  add 1 1/3 cups of granulated sugar a little at a time [1/3 at time]
5.  add salt and vanilla
6.  sift flour and sugar mix[1 above] into the whole mixture and fold in
7.  pour in ungreased tube pan. cut like you are cutting a cake one time around pan
8.  bake at 325 degrees for 50 to 65 minutes
