| Ingredients: |
| 2 | cups | brown sugar (a) |
| 1/2 | cups | Crisco (a) |
| 2 | | eggs (a) |
| 1/2 | tsp | salt (a) |
| 10 | tbsp | cocoa in 1/2 cup hot water |
| 1 | cup | sifted flour |
| 1 | tsp | soda |
| 1/2 | cups | sour milk |
| 1 | tsp | vanilla |
| 1 | cup | sifted flour |

| Instructions: |
| 1. | mix (a) ingredients and heat until ligh |
| 2. | add cocoa water and 1 cup of sifted flour |
| 3. | mix the soda and sour milk, add vanilla |
| 4. | add the sour milk mixture to the rest of the mix |
| 5. | add last cup of sifted flour |
